The OEM forged steel crankshaft from Subaru is quite good quality and can be used for reliatively high performance engine builds without concern. 2.0L applications use a 75mm stroke standard. In a 2.5L application running a 75mm crankshaft will de-stroke the engine which may be advantageous in certain types of applications. EJ205/EJ207 crankshafts feature double cross-drilled mains to improve the oil flow to the rod bearings. Version 8+ crankshaft features a nitride suface hardening process for increased reliabiliy and wear resistance.
